For the A.Y. 2016-17, reassessment proceedings were initiated against the assessee on the ground that the assessee had sold 16 scooters and earned ₹72,05,084 which had escaped assessment. The Assessee filed a writ petition challenging the order passed u/s. 148A(d) and the consequential notice issued u/s. 148 of the Act claiming that the income mentioned in the order and the notice was not subject to income tax.
