Export and Import of Currency
Notification No. FEMA 195 / 2009-RB, dated July 7,

Presently, a resident individual who is going on a
temporary visit outside India (other than to and from Nepal and Bhutan) is
permitted to take or bring back Indian currency notes issued by the Government
of India or RBI not exceeding Rs. 5,000.
This circular has raised this limit to Rs. 7,500.
